(The Gross Weight shown on the DGD does not agree with the Actual Weight on the AWB. Can you explain why?)
Q.
The Dangerous Goods Dec aration was shown as 1.3kgG yet the actual weight on the AWB was indicated as 3.3kg. I believe the AWB should also show 1.3kg as actual weight. Can you Dec pher this difference? (31 Mar 11)
A.
The AWB May have carried some other cargo weighing 2.0kg beside the dangerous goods.

If the AWB covered only the dangerous goods, the AWB should match the DGD and should have shown the same gross weight of 1.3kg. You should better check with the shipper and ask whether something else is packed with the dangerous goods and therefore arrived at a larger gross weight figure. An explanatory note on the AWB would help.
