For Type A Package for Radioactive Material, VRI code must be shown on the package. Is this VRI code limited to the VRI code of the Origin State? (30 Apr 11)
A.
As stated in the second bullet hole under DGR 10.7.1.3.4, for Type A Package, the VRI code as indicated in Appendix D.1 and D.2 of the country of origin of the design must be shown. That VRI Code must be the country code of the Country of Design Origin, i.e., the VRI Code of the Country of Manufacture must be permanently shown on the package.
