(Shipper built Refrigerated Container)
Q.
A shipper tenders a Refrigerated Container containing non-dangerous goods with dry ice used as refrigerant. How should the air waybill be prepared?  (6 Mar 04)
A.
Since it is a shipment where dry ice is used as refrigerant for non-dangerous goods, the Shipper?fs Dec aration for Dangerous Goods (DGD) does not accompany the shipment (refer Packing Instruction 904). Since the container has been loaded by the shipper, the AWB should show 1 as piece count. The Handling Information box of the AWB is left blank as per Figure 8.2.E of the DGR. In the Nature & Quantity of Goods box of the AWB, enter the commodity name, followed by Carbon dioxide, solid, 9, UN1845 1 x ?c.kgs (net weight of dry ice).
