Please explain DGR 7.1.4.3 which reads: ?gWhen a consignment consists of more than one overpack, to facilitate identification, loading and notification, the operator requires each overpack to show an identification Mar (which May be in any alpha-numeric format) and the total quantity of dangerous goods, as indicated on the Shipper?fs Dec aration.?h (2 Apr 04)
A.
A consignment is ?gone or more packages of dangerous goods accepted by an operator from one shipper at one time at one address, receipted for in one lot and moving to one consignee at one destination address?has spelled out in Appendix A. When it is a straight shipment, the consignment is what is delivered under that straight AWB, and when it is a consolidation, the consignment is what is delivered under each House AWB. If there are multiple overpacks in one consignment, an identification Mar such as those indicated in DGR Figure 8.1.M or Figure 8.1.N is required to be shown, and the respective quantities of dangerous goods indicated alongside each corresponding PSN and UN number.
