(Application of the Hazard Label)
Q.
Is it okay to apply the Hazard Label not in the 45 degree angle position but in a square position where the symbol and text would appear in a slanted position.  (27 Feb 05)
A.
Hazard labels are defined in 7.2.2.3.2 (a) that ?gthey must be in the form of a square with minimum dimensions of 100 x 100 mm set at an angle of 45 degrees (diamond shaped)?h. Unless there are some grave reason of not being able to apply the labels in a 45 degree angle, labels applied not conforming to this rule May become subject to rejection at time of delivery to the airline for carriage. It May invite unnecessary friction and May result in missing the intended flight. The reason behind such refusal is the sentiment that ?gpackages prepared by a shipper who is unable to comply with such simple rules cannot be trusted?h based on the fundamental duties of a carrier to ensure safety of the aircraft, its passengers and crew . ?@
