(Air Eligibility Mar ing)
Q.
The 45th Edition DGR states in 7.1.5.8 that ?gAIR ELIGIBILITY Mar INGS?h with an aircraft in a circle must be shown on the outside of the package. What happened to this requirement? (23 Dec 2003 (6 Mar 2005))
A.
With the 46th Edition (2005) of DGR, the ?gAIR ELIGIBLITY Mar INGS?h has been deleted but the requirement for the shippers to satisfy all air transport requirements have been made far clearer than before. A new subsection 1.3.1.4 has been added which specifically states that it is the shipper?fs responsibility to ensure that all of the applicable air transport requirements are met. DGR 1.3.2 (e) had been specifically added to highlight some of the more important air transport requirements as enumerated in the six bullet Mar s under sub-paragraph (e). A new paragraph 5.0.1.10 Additional Requirements for the Air Mode has been added which highlights that the transport of dangerous goods by air is subject to requirements additional to other modes of transport, e.g. quantity limitations, requirements for absorbent material, pressure differential, appropriate closing procedures, and specific packing instruction requirements.

A new Dec aration form has been introduced which carries an additional statement: ?gI Dec are that all of the applicable air transport requirements have been met?h as spelled out in DGR 8.1.6.12.2. Use of the previous form is permitted until 31 Dec mber 2006 however when using the old form, this additional statement must be added to the form by the shipper. (06 Mar h 2005) ?@
