(Question on USG-04 and Requirement of the letters “RQ”)
Q.
USG-04 states if the quantity exceeds the quantity listed in the RQ List, we must show the letters “RQ”. Kindly guide us where to look for the RQ List, and where must we indicate the letters “RQ” if we exceed the quantity given.  (31 Oct 22)

The list of Hazardous Substances and the applicable RQ are shown in Appendix A to 49 CFR 172.101. This is available via the internet at:

The list shows the hazardous substances in alphabetical order and indicates RQ weights in pounds and kilograms (in brackets). If the quantity is more than the indicated RQ weights, the letters “RQ” must be shown on the Shipper’s Declaration following the Proper Shipping Name, and also on the surface of the outer package immediately after the Proper Shipping Name.
