IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations (DGR 3.9.2.4.0) states that sustances havig a hazardous effect to marine environment should be assigned to UN3082 Environmentally hazardous substance, liquid, n.o.s. ★ Class 9. DGR 3.9.2.4.1 further states that if the substance meet the criteria in 2.9.3 of the UN Model Regulations (Recommendations on the Transport of Dangrous Goods) or that meet the criteria in national or international regulations established by the appropriate national authority of the State of origin, transit or destination of the consignment. As for the substance in question, if the Japanese Government have determined the substance as beig hazardous to marine environment, it must be shipped satisfying the requirements of UN3082.
