（Question on Special Provision A158.）
Q.
Shipper offered a shipment of "tow bar" for helicopters which contains hydraulic oil which is UN3082, PG III. The shipper says they will apply SP A158 for this shipment because they will drain the hydraulic oil from the tow bar to almost nil. Approximately 2mL may remain as mist. This tow bar will be packed in a wooden case. Please advise whether we can accept this shipment as “Not Restricted” as per SP A158? (28 Feb 21)

Provided that the tow bar is drained to have no more than 10mL of hydraulic oil left, SP A158 can be applied and the tow bar may be carried as “Not Restricted” per SP A158. Although not a requirement, it is advisable to have the shipper enter a remark on the AWB stating that the tow bar has been drained to satisfy SP A158.
