（Question on shipping Alcohol beverages.）
Q.
We are shipping Alcoholic beverage (UN3065 Class 3) with 46% alcohol by volume packed in bottles of 700mL each. Referring to Special Provision A9, since our shipment is using containers of less than 5L, may we regard that our shipment satisfies SP A9 and can be handled as “Not Restricted”? Please advise. (31 Jan 21)
A.
According to SP A9, “Alcoholic beverages containing 70% or less alcohol by volume, when packed in receptacles of 5L or less, are not subject to these Regulations when shipped as cargo.” There are 3 check points, namely (1) alcohol contents must be 70% or less, (2) containers must be 5L or less, and (3) it must be shipped as cargo.
