(Question on how to show GIBRALTAR as a country on the DGD.)
Q.
The consignee’s address being at GIBRALTAR, we are not sure whether we should show the destination country as GIBRALTAR or as GIBRALTAR, UNITED KINGDOM on the documents. We have checked the DGR and found no mention of GIBRALTAR as a country. Is it correct to show the country as UNITED KINGDOM? We are also checking the State Variation under United Kingdom (GBG). Are we correct? (30 Nov 20)
A.
GIBRALTAR is a British Overseas Territory having their own currency and own government. Gibraltar had not filed any State Variation so they are not listed in the DGR. TACT Rules, however show GIBRALTAR in Section 7 “Information by Countries” Part 7.3. On the documents, please show the destination as GIBRALTAR. You may add (British Overseas Territory) in brackets. As for the State Variation, please refer to the variations under United Kingdom (GBG).
