(Question on how to show APIO packages on DGD.)
Q.
The shipper submits a DGD declaring an APIO package. DGD shows “All packed in 1 fibreboard box” indicating the quantity of the APIO in numerical character. DGR 8.1.6.9.2 in the second paragraph, states the number of packages can be entered in numerical character or alpha character. Does this apply to the number of APIO packages? DGR 8.1.6.9.2 (f) referring to APIO only shows numerical characters for the package quantity. Please advise.  (31 Jul 20)
A.
The number of packages, whether it is APIO or others, may be entered in numerical character or in alpha character. You can also enter the words as “All packed in one (1) fibreboard box”.

Furthermore, as also stated in DGR 8.1.6.9.2 second paragraph, the type of packages may be shown in singular or plural form, e.g., “4 steel drum” instead of “4 steel drums”, “1 plastic boxes” instead of “1 plastic box”. These mnor grammatical errors are not subject to correction. Alternative spelling commonly used, such as, “Fiberbard box” may be used instead of “Fiberboard box”, however the spelling “fibreboard box” appearing in Table 5.0.C. is more preferred.
