(Question on UN 3506 Lamps containing mercury.)
Q.
When transporting UN3506 Lamps containing mercury (Mercury volume 0.02 g per lamp) satisfying all the stipulations spelled out in DGR 1.2.11, is it necessary to indicate on the AWB the words: “Not restricted per DGR 1.2.11” ? Mercury contained in the lamp is not in liquid form. Is it permissible to skip Internal Pressure Test (DGR 6.3.5) and Leakproofness Test (DGR 6.3.4) both of which are for liquid dangerous goods. Furthermore, when satisfying stipulations of DGR 1.2.11 and therefore transporting the lamps as “not restricted”, do we understand test reports are all not needed.  (30 Jun 20)
A.
To start out with, please enter the words: “Not restricted per DGR 1.2.11” on the AWB. When the dangerous goods are not in liquid form, Internal Pressure Test nd Leakproofness Test are not required. Lastly, when the shipment does not have to follow the regulation, test reports would no longer be required. If however, when reference documents are requested for some reason, kindly comply.
