(A question on a unit powered by lithium metal battery.)

Coin type Lithium metal battery CR2032 is used as power for this unit. The lithium content is 0.07g. The battery is not installed. The customer will assemble the unit by himself using all the components, parts and battery all packed together in the kit. All components, parts and battery are individually packed inside the Kit. Please guide us how to declare and how to pack.  (31 Mar 20)

If the lithium contents of the Button type Lithium metal battery CR2032 is 0.07g, it does not meet the minimum requirement of 0.3g, and therefore do not qualify as dangerous goods.

This shipment will be declared as a “Not Restricted” shipment. For packaging, it must be packed in such a manner qualifying for air transport. Air transportis is unlike surface transport, where temperature differential, pressure differential and vibration msut be taken into account. Please refer to IATA Dangerous Goods Regulation 5.0.4 “Conditions Normal to Air Transport” for details. Particularly for lithium batteries, you must avoid using conductive packaging material to avoid short circuits..
