(Which category Dangerous Goods training course should I take ?)
Q.
Which category Dangerous Goods course is most advisable for an airline engineering/matenance staff should take ? Should he take a Category 1 for shipper course since he sends out aircraft spare parts ? Please advise. (31 Aug 19)
A.
Which DG course a person should take solely depends on the person’s choice. It is not regulated by his profession or job title. The person can take a simple DG Awareness course up to a complete Category 6 (including radioactive material) course, the latter covering everything.

The person can secure a DG certificate of whatever category course the person has successfully accomplished and be able to use the license in his career. It is advisable for an airline employee to take Category 6 including radioactive material as he may later seek transfer to other departments more involved in DG handling.
