(Question on Proper Shipping Names of Self reactive substances and Organic peroxides.)
Q.
In the case of Self reactive substances and Organic peroxides, you need to supplement the proper shipping name by indicating in brackets the chemical name as appearing in Appendix C.1 and C.2. Is it permissible to add words such as “mixture” and “solution”?  (31 May 19)
A.
There is nothing wrong in adding the words such as “Mixture” or “Solution” to the chemical name when you are shipping a mixture or solution. It means that the predominant substance is either a self reactive substance or an organic peroxide but it contains a small amount of other material, hence the term “mixture” or “solution”.
