The predominant substance of the article is Ethanol and there is no subsidiary risk. The product is a liquid with a flash point of less than 60℃ by Closed Cup Test. Should we assign UN 1993 Flammable Liquid, n.o.s. ★ or should we assign UN 1170 Ethanol Solution? We need your advice. (31 Oct 16)

The procedure to assign UN number and Proper Shipping Name is written in DGR 4.0.1.2 sub-paragraphs (a), (b), (c), and (d). It indicates to assign a specific group name over generic names, therefore, the correct Proper Shipping Name is UN 1170 Ethanol Solution. As for determining PG, please refer to DGR Table 3.3.A.
