(Must we show UN 3314 on the NOTOC form? Which Cargo IMP Code should we assign, RMD or RSB?)
Q.
Is it necessary to show UN 3314 Plastics moulding compound on the NOTOC? Which Cargo IMP Code should we apply, RMD or RSB? In the footnote of Figure 7.3.W of DGR 7.3.18 Class 9 Miscellaneous Dangerous Goods, under Cargo IMP Code, it says “RMD or ICE, RLI, RLM, RSB (polymeric beads and plastics moulding compound subject to Packing Instruction 957), as applicable.” What does this mean? (31 May 16)
A.
UN 3314 Plastics moulding compound Class 9 PG III (PI 957) must be listed on the NOTOC and the captain must be advised of the loading. Items not needed to be listed on the NOTOC are listed on DGR Table 9.5.A. UN 3314 is not shown on this Table. RSB is to be used for Cargo IMP Code. The footnote shown under DGR 7.3.18 Figure 7.3.W, explains that, as applicable, Cargo IMP Codes RMD, ICE, RLI, RLM or RSB need to be assigned. For Polymeric beads and Plastics moulding compound, RSB must be used and must be subject to PI 957.
