As long as Limited Quantity provisions are permitted for that particular dangerous goods, you may use UN specification packagings as outer packaging for Limited Quantity shipments. In order to avoid unnecessary questioning which may result in a delay of the shipment, it is advisable to conceal the UN Specification Marking on the package. An airline may take the shipment as a regular dangerous goods shipment when they see the UN Specification marking on the package and handle it accordingly. Such misunderstanding will result in unnecessary questioning. To avoid unwanted misunderstanding, the shipper should erase or cover up the UN specification marking.
