(Is House AWB same as the Air Waybill quoted in the Regulations?)
Q.
In case of a consolidated shipment, is the House AWB issued by the forwarder the same as the Air Waybill mentioned in the Regulation book. Is it necessary for the words: “Dangerous Goods as per attached Shipper’s Declaration” to appear on both AWBs?  (30 Jun 15)
A.
The function as a transport document is the same. The House AWB is a transport contract between the shipper and the forwarder whereas the Master AWB is a transport contract between the forwarder and the airline. The Dangerous Goods Regulation applies to both AWBs, however, the airline have no access to the House AWB. Therefore any information which must be communicated to the airline must be indicated on the Master AWB.
