When making an overpack to contain a few pieces of UN specification packages requiring no segregation, is it permissible to use a UN specification outer packaging as an Overpack? (31 Mar 15)
A.
Since a UN specification outer packaging is more sturdy than an ordinary overpack, it may be costly but from strength, a UN specification outer packaging will be welcomed. However in order to avoid unwanted interrogation from the airline, the shipper should cover the UN specification marking on the box. This will avoid any misunderstanding.
