(Is it permissible to declare the quantity in kilograms for UN 1956 Compressed gas, n.o.s. on its declaration)
Q.
UN 1956 Compressed gas, n.o.s. Class 2.2 is shown on the List of Dangerous Goods (DGR 4.2) as kilograms. It says 75kg per package is the maximum for passenger aircraft. The MSDS that we have received from the manufacturer states that the product is a mixture of CO2 and N2 and the quantity is 10.2L. May we show the quantity as 10.2L on the Declaration? (28 Feb 13)
A.
Since UN 1956 is shown as kilograms in the DGR, you must declare the item using the kilogram unit of measurement.
