We are in doubt on how far should we permit the ?gFacsimile signature?h spelled out in DGR 8.1.4.1.1 (30 Jun 10)
A.
Since interpretations of the country(ies) of transit as well as the country of destination need to be taken into account when determining the legal validity of a DGD signature, a handwritten personal signature would be the most preferable.

Japan recognize the ?gchop?h (seal) as a legal signature whereas in the United States a ?gchop?h does not mean anything.

The entry ?gFacsimile signatures are acceptable where applicable laws and regulations recognize the legal validity of facsimile signatures.?h written in DGR 8.1.4.1.1 does not simply address the requirement at the State of Origin. It refers to the legal validity of a ?greproduced?h signature at the State of Origin, State(s) of Transit and the Sate of Destination.
