(Can live animals be transported by Post?)
Q.
Is transport of animals and insects permitted in POST? How about dead animals and insects? (31 Oct 12)
A.
By hearsay, it is noted that beetles are often sent in domestic post for kids. International mail do not allow animals and insects, whether live or dead, to be transported by POST.

Dead animals may be transported as cargo, provided the shipment is accompanied by a veterinarian’s certificate of death and the carcass must be packed in an air-tight manner as is for human remains. Animals which died of infectious disease such as rabies may only be transported as cremated remains. Live animals having a contagious disease are not accepted for air transportation.
