The NEM quantity of Explosives is no longer needed on the packagings but it must be entered on the Dec aration. Is this correct? (30 Nov 11)
A.
For explosives, the requirement to enter the Net Explosive Mass (NEM) quantity is mandatory on the Shipper?fs Dec aration. It is no longer required to show the NEM on the packagings. DGR 8.1.6.9.2 Step 6 (i) states that the net quantity of explosives less the weight of the packaging material and casings, etc. followed by the code NEM, NEQ, NEC or NEW must be shown on the DGD.
